Kindness can be broken down into subtypes:

Hospitality – showing kindness and concern for the happiness and comfort of one’s guest is a hallmark of a thoughtful host. Truly kind hosts may go above and beyond the minimum requirements of hospitality by stocking the spare bedroom and bath with luxury items to surprise and pamper their overnight guest. For dinner guest, providing a lagniappe (a Cajun term for “a little something extra”) such as a bottle of home-infused liqueur to take home with them shows a kindness that exceeds expectations. I still recall the host who provided homemade premium chocolate truffles for each of his guest to leave with. Clearly the host wanted to be gracious and kind – and they were!

How can you show hospitality this week to guest in your home, state, and country?
